By the way, this dress is on sale right now at JCrew. It’s a really good deal and your bridesmaids could wear this to any other event after. I’m not sure what your tastes are, but this dress also looks very flattering on a lot of different body types.

You said:
“I find that your “answers” to questions are usually an underhanded insult, and not well disguised I might add. If a question is asked about the logistics of planning a wedding, and your response is that you hope we spend as much time on the wedding as preparing for our life together you are completely disregarding the question. I asked another question last year about the popularity of wearing helmets while skiing and you “answered” that I should be more concerned with my safety than appearance. Again, not answering the question. It doesn’t seem that you are an “expert” on anything but have a negative outlook on everything. Everytime I see an answer from you I completely disregard it. As the aunt of the co-founder of Fluther, I would think you would want to keep his website positive and helpful. Something to think about next time you choose cynicism and bitterness.”

Supergirl: I am truly sorry and sad in the way that you responded to my answers.(All of them, apparently.) . You use very strong language, so I must assume that you feel very strongly. I infer that you consider that all I have said on this site is insulting, incorrect, bitter, and cynical. Is it just me that you are enraged at or are there flutherers?

I responded to the helmet question because my 36 year old son was killed in an avalanche in 1996 while he was not wearing any head protection in spite of being an experienced skier, ice climber and mountaineer; so I am sensitive to young people in dangerous situations. I am certainly an expert on grief. And I watched another young member of my family plan and have the perfect, most beautiful and detailed wedding day possible. The couple didn’t think about their future lives together carefully enough, and 4 years later, w. a beautiful 1 yr old daughter, the marriage has broken up in the most vindictive, painful, unexpected and painful way imaginable. The entire family feels the ripple effect.

I hope for the opposite for you and your love; a glorious day and a long, happy, conflict-free and productive life together. Gail

I love to barbecue, too. If you live in an area where barbecuing is OK, and the weather is nice (I’m blessed to live in San Diego) cooking outdoors is fun and easy. It’s hard to mess up hamburgers and hot dogs. Steak is a little more tricky, and fish is difficult (but not impossible with a grilling basket).

If I were you, and wanted to have a steak, go to the supermarket and ask the butcher for a good cut of New York or sirloin. Marinate it in barbecue sauce (or my new favorite is the Jack Daniel’s marinades that come in a bag) overnight for a day or two. Then, cook it on the grill over a medium flame (it’s better to have lower heat than higher—it’s easier to control the doneness). Turn it every five minutes until it’s done to your satisfaction.

Make some shoestring fries in the oven, and then call me over to eat. ;)
