Descartes’ argument is flawed because he forgets to mention that he perceives he thinks. His perception could be flawed and likely is. All that can be inferred from Descartes is that perception of thinking exists and that something or things might be perceiving, but this does not establish the existence of an individual, God, etc.

Following up on the Palin/clothes thread – it’s a little old now, so I thought I’d just talk to you. What is the sarcasm you’re talking about, though? I wasn’t sarcastic.
I meant to say, you’re right (I did say that, actually) – non-candidate Michelle Obama’s clothes aren’t equivalent to candidate Sarah Palin’s. So far so good? So then I tried to say, Let’s compare Palin, a candidate, to the other candidates, Senators Obama, McCain and Biden, whose clothes were not bought for them by their constituents.
