Yes, lard does make a pretty fine pastry – my mother-in-law uses it, but I don’t. The combination of butter and Crisco seems to work well and the butter gives a good flavor. The rest of the ingredients are 2½ cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of sugar and ¼ tsp. salt.
Save a piece of pie for me!
