yes sleep apnea is a HUGE problem and many people dont know about it
For example, sleep apnea (diagnosed in up to 10% of men over 40 as well as in women and children) has been associated with heart attacks, heart failure, stroke, hypertension, accelerated development of coronary artery disease, abnormal heart rhythms, convulsions, memory problems, slowed thinking, irritability, mood swings, depression and high speed highway crashes. http://www.thesleepsite.com/
Mark’s wife, Susan was always bothered by his snoring, but she became more troubled when she noticed that throughout the night he would stop breathing periodically, seeming to wake up to restart his breathing and then fall back asleep again. Mark occasionally remembered waking up during the night, but for the most part, he did not remember the gaps in breathing. He did, however, know that he was always tired during the day. http://www.helpguide.org/life/sleep_apnea.htm
Snoring is an age-old problem with many social consequences, including marital discord, separate bedrooms, even separation and divorce, and angry neighbors. Snoring usually occurs due to vibration of the tissue in the throat, usually while the patient is breathing through the mouth

Forty-five percent of normal adults snore at least occasionally, and 25 percent are habitual snorers. Problem snoring is more frequent in males and overweight persons, and it usually grows worse with age.

Snoring is a problem shared by more than 25 percent of the population. It occurs more frequently in men and people who are overweight. Habitual snoring disrupts a family’s peaceful night’s sleep. Snoring also disturbs the snorer’s own sleep patterns, resulting in a feeling of being tired, even after what seems like a good night’s sleep. Habitual snoring makes a restful sleep nearly impossible for everyone. A snorer, however, is helpless to control or stop the snoring. At Cleveland Clinic, an ENT doctor can offer some snoring treatments.

Gaslight (1944)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036855/
The term gaslighting was coined in the 1940 and 1944 remake of the movie Gaslight. In this movie the main character is made to believe she is crazy and imagining things by her husband so that he could gain access to her finances. He repeatedly lights a gas lamp in one part of the house, causing the other lamps in the house to become dimmer. When the main character in the movie confronts her husband about this, he repeatedly tells her that she is imagining things and that the lamps are not, in fact, dimmer.

From the 1944 film Gaslight the term “gaslighting” acquired the meaning of ruthlessly manipulating an individual into believing something other than the truth.
The jist of the movie is that a husband tries to make his wife seem insane in order to get her out of his way by getting her admitted to a mental hospital. He does this in subtle ways that cause her to doubt her own ability to interpret reality.

About this title: Ever been wronged by somebody you can’t strike back at? Being hassled by an obnoxious bureaucrat who has the law on his side, for example? The books in this section will show you a multitude of ways that you can get even with anybody and remain anonymous. We must warn you these books are sold for entertainment purposes only! Gaslighting means to drive someone crazy. It comes from the 1944 film Gaslight, in which a husband convinces his wife she’s losing her mind. Gaslighting is the most potent form of psychological warfare you can use without a license. In this book, Santoro shows you how to destroy your target’s confidence, self-esteem and reputation. Through a series of small incidents, your target gets progressively more confused, until he’s reduced to a shapeless mass of shivering, quivering jelly. It will show you how to cause disorientation, get your target off balance and build up his paranoia.

It’s most famous appearance in recent years is probably in the song “Gaslighting Abbie” (2000) by Steely Dan, which describes gaslighting as a “a luscious invention for three, one summer by the sea.” Their explanation of how to gaslight someone is as follows:
…we’ll do a fright night
With blood and everything
Some punky laughter from the kitchen
And then – a nice relaxing hand of solitaire
