  I'm feeling now (with 1 day to go) that "OS X Lite" is going to be the big deal of the keynote. A competitor for Palm OS and Windows Mobile. OS X lite could power phones, ipods, iTV, an Apple Home Server. It could be the beginning attack on the living room...

  Where are the best day hikes in Yosemite?

  The Mist Trail to the top of Vernal Falls is my favorite day hike. You can go on to the top of Nevada Falls if you're feeling particularly strapping that day.

  why do some guys leave the seat up?

  Let me tell you ladies, it's not that easy to aim correctly. Sometimes you think it's going to be a trickle but out comes a torrent, and you weren't prepared. Sometimes the reverse. Sometimes it switches on you half way through. We do our best to make it, but it really is that hard! Life in the WC is full of surprises.

  Can you recommend a really well-written novel by a contemporary author?

  The winner of this year's national book award was "The Echo Maker" by Richard Powers, which is excellent. "Never Let Me Go" was my second-favorite read this year.
