I’m from Kansas (Which IS a part of the US and don’t let anyone tell you differently!) and I read the book right after it came out in the mid-to-late 70’s (read it a couple of times over the years,) and there is a movie out…...called Alive. Movie isn’t as good as the book of course! It doesn’t give you the same sense of “OMG! They really did that!…would I do the same in their shoes??” But, yeah. You should be able to get a hold of a copy.
(Want to hear something bad?! Um, I was proof reading this and realized that originally I wrote “Mid-to-ate 70’s! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!)
