  I'm curious as to why people scratch their heads when thinking about a problem?

  I think this is just the gesture we most associate with thinking (or really, questioning). Another very common gesture associated with thinking (or perhaps, pondering) is stroking one’s chin/beard. Another common gesture or fidget I’ve noticed since getting married is folks playing with their wedding rings (or bracelets, watches, etc). I think it’s all akin to doodling, a gesture of another type associated with clearing one’s mind, thinking deeply (or ironically, zoning out).

  Do you believe in the quarter life crisis?

  It’s definitely a period where one becomes a bit more self aware… at least for a moment… and folks don’t always like what they see. But a crisis? Not so much. So far for me, that’s been things like getting married, starting a family, etc (all of which are wonderful, but give you a different perspective on what’s important, your own mortality, etc).

  How many months do you think is the optimum time to stay home after the birth of a baby?

  Many smart answers above. Another approach would be asking yourself what the most valuable way is you might contribute to your child’s future. In other words, if you are more valuable to your child out earning money so that they can get the things (education, health care, or even basics like food & shelter) they need, then you should work. On the other hand, if those ‘things’ are under control and the best way you can help them grow is to be there to talk, help with homework, keep them playing and imaginative, etc, then stay home with them.
