  What's on your favorite peanut butter sandwich?

  I love PB & honey, too. My dad used to be a huge fan of PB&Mayo&lettuce as a sandwich. It actually wasn’t too bad (though I realize it does sound frightfully nauseating).

  What is the best city you've ever been to, and why?

  Domestically, it’s a tossup between San Francisco and Austin. Internationally, I’d go with Zurich for natural beauty (in and around), Siem Reap, Cambodia for history/ruins and Bangkok for going out (this may have just been a consequence of who I was there with, though).

  What would you do? I advertised on Craigs List that I have a queen box spring to give away...

  I’d say that you have to allow the #1 person on the list a shot… then you can give the charity lady a shot. if #1 takes it, she doesn’t get a shot… BUT, if #1 doesn’t take it, no one will ever know that they got slighted on the list order (since they’ll presume someone higher on the list snatched it up). I know it’s not totally ethical, but I like to live on the edge – and would rather give it away to a known charitable entity than an unknown person (who may just be wanting to turn around and try to sell it or donate it for a tax write-off)... Speaking of, I bet you can write it off as a donation for your taxes if you give it to the charity lady… not a bad deal.

  How much money do you keep in your checking account?

  I have my short-term savings (e.g. not in stocks/etc) in an ING (ingdirect.com) account that is setup to deposit my mortgage amount into my checking account in advance of the due date each month. This has a much higher interest rate than most savings accounts and is really easy to transfer money into and out of. I also have my paycheck setup to direct deposit partially into ING so I don’t have all of my money accessible in my checking account to spend. It keeps me honest in my budgeting/living expenses… I know I allow myself $XX each paycheck to live (excluding mortgage), so if my bank account balance is low, I’ve been over-consuming… or if it’s high, i pat myself on the back and pull some of it out. I usually try to keep ~$1K -$1500 in there (excluding mortgage that goes in and out close to the mortgage due date).

  Will Lehman brothers stock disappear when it files for bankruptcy?

  I don’t know what typically happens in these instances, but here are a few datapoints that suggest to me that this wouldn’t be a good investment right now. 1. One of my girlfriends that is an ibanker with lehman in London has an out-of-office message that says, “This email address will cease to exist within the very near term. Please reach me on…” 2. BBC reported today that PWC has come in to take over the UK facilities – they’re reporting that there is basically zero cash and they’re thinking they likely won’t be able to pay current employees for payday on Friday.
