Thanks for your hard work Marissa, I have not tried the embassy, I had no luck with The Observer the archive doesn’t go back far enough, I need to go up to London really.
I think her father is an East German, pre – Berlin wall coming down, I wonder if she may be inside for anti war or Womens rights.Her language although good English suggests she might have learned it Stateside, Bucks Old London Town etc.
One day I hope to meet her and hear her story.

Hi Marissa and friends, I just found this link through Askville. Even though I’m not able to sign-on to Askville, I am able to view the questions, answers and db’s. At least that way I’ve been able to keep up with the goings-on there. Although, it’s a bit difficult when I’d like to post something on a db. <sigh> It’s very interesting to read the different takes on the suspensions. Some are up in arms, some are matter-of-fact and some are a bit self-righteous. Oh well, such is the way of Askville.

In case any of you are interested in my suspension, I just want you to know that I believe the Askville Team was within their rights to suspend me. I only wish the suspension had taken place at the time when there were so many complaints to Askville about the behavior of one member’s behavior, instead of the Askville Team sitting on their hands and leaving a volatile situation to fester and grow into what eventually happened with the “blue haired old ladies” and Layyla. That was the time the team should have taken command of the situation. Instead, we were told in a blog by Mr. Mayor to think of Askville as a “Dinner Party.” Well, we were choking on what was being offered to us.

I was definitely in the wrong with the behavior I exhibited during the worst of the Layyla/Blue Haired Old Ladies era. Before the Team did decide to do something, a good many of us had decided to stop confronting Layyla. I know I did, with the exception of one post I made regarding her despicable comments to one member regarding “healing prayers.”

I do want all of you to know that in my entire time on Askville, I had never received any warnings from the Team or threats of suspension. What happened yesterday, by the 3 strike suspension, was my first warning. Although, at times, I know I should have been sent warnings, because I was just as bad or worse than the person I was confronting. I knew better, yet posted anyway.

I’m a big girl, and I will take my punishment, learn from it, grow and, hopefully, return to Askville at the end of my suspension and adapt to the newer, and, hopefully, improved Askville. ~ Lin_Boop
