  What do you think of when you hear '70s music?

  I remember thinking how much it sucked. There was not much good 70s music. Yes, there was good stuff then, but disco was trashing the entire idea of music itself.

  Do you judge people by the music they listen to?

  I’m less concerned with what music people listen to, more concerned with how they use music. Is music used as an environment, as a drug, as a mood enhancement, etc.

  Where does the phrase "out of pocket" come from?

  Current thinking is that it relates to the football formation, wherein the quarterback is “in the pocket.” Thus, to be “out of pocket” is to be away from team mates. The Word Detective column thinks this is viable. I tend to concur.
