  Can an iPod touch run .jar games?

  It isn’t strictly speaking impossible. It wouldn’t be impossible to compile Java (or Java bytecode) to ARM assembly for the iPhone, but I don’t know of any compilers that can.

  jQuery or Mootools?

  @segdeha jquery makes unobtrusive javascript very easy. Everything I wanted to do in the project was simple and elegant. The method chaining is very convenient when you get the hang of it, and doesn’t get in the way while you’re learning. Of course, the last time I used prototype was a couple years ago, so perhaps it’s worth another look.

  Identify JPG files with EXIF information?

  I didn’t see any command-line exif information programs that would be useful to you, but a little bit of Ruby will go a long way here. It seems like you know a bit about programming, so here’s some example code that solves a simplified version of your problem, since you didn’t state how to distinguish the images you want from the ones you don’t. First, install the exifr library. From Terminal: sudo gem install exifr Then save this code in a file named image.rb in a directory with all of the images to process: http://pastie.caboo.se/166226 Feel free to message me if you want more info.

  If you were writing a blog from scratch...

  Drafts are nice. The ability to have different ‘sections’ of a blog would be interesting. One section for talking about work, another for talking about life, etc. Oh, and syntax highlighting for all of one’s favorite programming languages.

  jQuery or Mootools?

  I used Prototype for a while and recently moved to a job where jQuery was the preferred standard. After using it for a little while, I think I’ll use jQuery for any future projects where I have a choice.
