  Safari/Firefox on Imac keeps crashing, I hear this is happening to many!

  Have you tried going back and installing a slightly older version of Flash? This means you’ll be able to get most of the YouTube clips etc., but not some of the new fancy web-apps out there that try to everything with flash. It may be that the latest version of Flash is incompatible with something about your system. When did you start experiencing this problem?

  Should I get a Palm Pre?

  I bought a Pre on launch day and don’t regret it at all. It runs a bit hot sometimes, but the multi-tasking is really, really useful and so much better than the G1 (which I tried and returned after a week) and the iPhone. I follow this site: Palm Pre Apps to get app info. It has most of the apps but not all (missing at least a couple). That should give you an idea of what apps are available. Don’t go by what’s available now, since Palm has yet to release its SDK – once that’s out, there should be many more apps. Oh, and the Pre syncs very well with my Mac Book Pro, so I don’t expect a difference in that respect with the iPhone.

  What does your QuickSilver look like?

  I now use Google’s Quick Search Box for Mac: http://code.google.com/p/qsb-mac/ It’s done by the same developer as Quicksilver, who is now working at Google.

  What should I do to keep my Imac running smooth?

  I use CleanMyMac : http://osx.iusethis.com/app/cleanmymac I have tried others as well, but some of them (MrClean in particular) managed to delete some system files (I think) which killed some of my applications. You should also use a good uninstaller (dragging to trash doesn’t quite cut it). I also try to minimize the number of new apps I install. And make sure to run Disk Utility once in a while, like someone suggested above.

  Does getting less sleep every night, say 6-6.5 hours rather than 7.5-8 hours, reduce one's lifespan significantly? how does lack of sleep affect you in the long run?

  In general, a sleep deficit increases baseline stress levels. An increase in stress levels is usually accompanied by an increase in oxidative stress and oxidative damage, which is just another form of aging.
