  Canon was the first to introduce a lens that use optical image stabilization. I’m not sure who was first with sensor-shift stabilization.

  Ever tried Web hosting with content management?

  I just recently started a site using Joomla, which is a free open-source CMS. It is provided for free by my webhost, and I would highly recommend it after using it for a while. I’ve tried doing a website the hard way (from scratch with an HTML editor) and the easy way (with a website builder, which is what GoDaddy offers), and by far prefer using Joomla. It’s very flexible, their are lots of great site templates and extensions available for it, and it has excellent user-community based support. You can see my Joomla site at http://1800ubuntu.com .   Are there any paying jobs where you work on-line? If so is there a place where are they listed?

  I have worked at both http://elance.com and http://rentacoder.com . Both are excellent, but I prefer Elance. RAC is free until you get paid, then they take a percentage. Elance charges a monthlly fee (it’s only $9.95 for the Writing and Translation category that I work in) for each category that you belong to. Web design and development is one of the categories. Besides web design, I see a lot of projects for building forums and posting to blogs. I seem to find more jobs on Elance than I did with RAC. At both sites, you bid on the jobs—if you can show examples of work you’ve done you’re sure to be able to find work. If not, it’s slow in the beginning until someone decides to give you a try. Both sites are based on a rating system, and as long as you maintain a good rating you can get all the work you want. Hope this helps.

  What did you think is more likely to happen, an alien invasion or a Terminator style uprising of computers/machines/robots?

  I think it’s much more likely that intelligent aliens exists on one of the billions of planets in the universe and that they would attack us than it would be for computers/robots/machines to take over the world, because they lack one thing that comes with life—the desire to be on the top of the heap!
