  What's the best nasal decongestant out there?

  @BoyWonder Mucinex is the brand name for GUAIFENESIN—which has been used in cough syrups like Robitussen for a long time. It helps thin the mucus and makes coughs more productive. Like @RedPowerLady says, it gets the nastiness out of there. I use it even without a cough, especially if I’ve got a lot of pressure from mucus in my nose and sinuses. It just gets stuff flowing, and out of your head, and I haven’t had any side effects. I try not to take a lot of unnecessary drugs, but this is one I keep on hand for those bad colds. I like it because unlike a decongestant that supposedly dries up mucus (which doesn’t help it get out of the body), it helps the mucus flow out. I haven’t experienced drowsiness or insomnia with it, either. There are a lot of other issues that people use guaifenesin for, such as increasing the fluidity of cervical mucus for fertility purposes. Some also use it as an alternative therapy for treating fibromyalgia symptoms.

  Will my divorce meddle with my job as a marriage counseler?

  Situations where people are wondering about what divorce is like, where they are dealing with major issues (I could see a downside to someone being a marriage counselor who hasn’t gone through a divorce—thinking his/her marriage has been so problem-free how could he/she possibly understand my problems?).

  How would you feel if your brother befriended your ex-husband on Facebook?

  I would be fuming! And hurt. Your brother must know how you feel about your ex and should respect that if he cares about you. I would make sure he at least doesn’t talk about any info about your ex if you don’t want to hear about it—tell him to keep that stuff to himself. Ask him how he would feel if the situation was reversed.

  How do you believe a person becomes a bad person?

  I think it has a lot to do with how someone was treated, loved, and/or unloved during their early childhood. My dad has said (and I’ve seen evidence to the same) that if you love and provide for a child during their first three years, then he/she will be able to handle whatever life throws at them. It’s not quite as simple as this, I’m sure, but without a strong bond between child and parent, it must be hard for the child to grow up with any sense of security or reason to be a “good” person. All this is so humbling as a parent.
