We have a convection oven in the new house, and they are fabulous. If you have one, use it! Go with the bake at the start, and finish with a roast for the last 20 minutes.

The difference is that the convection roast uses the broiler element on the top of the oven too. So the meat is seared by additional heat. Works great for meats and casseroles not good for cakes.

I think roast, because bake takes longer, but bake is good.

Definitely go with the convection roast for your turkey. It gives it a nice browning for the skin while holding in the moisture.

roast comes out juicier and tender

Conventional oven. I must say Fry it. OMG even better less time and less mess.

I am with @Frenchfry Why bother with either. Fry it, and be prepared to be enlightened.
