Does anyone know the number to text to find out how much internet you've used on your phone?

Asked by remambermee (442points) October 10th, 2010

I have Verizon. The guy at the Verizon store told me you can text a number to find out. I forgot what it was. I don’t have unlimited internet access and like I don’t want to go over. So anyone know?

Most Verizon phones (pretty much any phone that can access the Internet, and some that can’t) have a “My Verizon” feature that is free; it doesn’t count against your airtime or data usage. That is how I checked my status back when I had a Samsung Trance.

From the Verizon FAQ
How do I check my data usage?

“There are two easy ways to track megabyte usage:

(Section Deleted – Inapplicable to phones)

2) My Verizon

To check usage:

- 1. Log in to My Verizon. If you have not registered select “Register for My Verizon”.
– 2. Select the Data tab in the Cell Usage pod on the left hand of the page.

When setting up an account for the first time, a temporary password is sent to your Mobile Broadband device, viewable on the TXT Messaging tab in VZAccess Manager.”

I can check my usage online at Verizon’s website. I’ve never heard of having a number to text and find out the usage.
