I wanted to be a hairstylist, geologist, herpetologist, CIA agent, artist, English professor, psychologist, neurosurgeon, private security contractor, and art therapist (in that order from ages 5 to 19).

I’m now on my way to being either a history professor or working for the DoD, depending on what I do with my post-grad work.

I wanted to be a lawyer, doctor, dolphin/whale trainer at Sea World, marine biologist, music teacher, and probably a few other things I don’t remember.

Now I’m a nurse.

I wanted to be a librarian or a veterinarian. I still don’t know what I’m going to be, but it’s going to be something to do with environmental policy. Oh well.

Indiana Jones. Paleontologist. Marine Biologist. A writer (age eight.) A high school English teacher (age seventeen.) Back to writer (... a few months later.)

I’m currently employed as one of my university’s Writing Center tutors. I help students pass remedial English courses, edit rough drafts for a variety of courses, and prepare for the Graduate Writing Test. The Plan, currently, is to continue my education to earn an MA and PHD in Children’s Literature. I would like to publish academic papers and creative fiction and (possibly) teach coursework at a university.

I wanted to be a veterinarian, a doctor, a bio chemist, a molecular biologist, and now a genetic therapist.
But at the moment I am volunteer at the local homeless shelter.

When I was 3, I wanted to be water so people could swim in me.

Now I’m a full-time nanny, a performer at King’s Dominion theme park and I do stuff with Dark Horse Comics.

I never particularly wanted to do anything serious. That’s how I ended up, too.

The first thing I can distinctly remember wanting to be was a veterinarian. The next was marine biologist. Since then it’s been rockstar, writer, race car driver, Indiana Jones, video game designer, graphic design artist, movie composer, Samantha Brown, anthropologist, history professor, pro surfer, chef, baker, secret agent – I can’t think of any more.

And now, I’m still confused.

I wanted to be an oceanographer…came pretty darn close too! Had a second interest in making movies and came pretty darn close and I have shot video of me on dive trips. As Monty Python has said famously….“And now for something completely different”!! I now formulate epoxies.

I wanted to be a train conductor and an entomologist. My dreams were destroyed by mean kids telling me the only friends I had were bugs.
Now I’m studying pathology. Guess my real friends are dead folk hahaha.

But what I really am is an alcoholic. XD

An inventor, detective, a cryptographer, a cartoonist, a game designer, a writer, and ambidextrous.

Now I’m an ambidextrous security guard with a single cracked Playfair cipher and a 300 page rough draft of a novel under her belt.

As a kid I wanted to be a horserace jockey, then I wanted to be a journalist. later I decided I didn’t really fancy either of those and to be perfectly honest there is no job I really want to do. I would far rather be independently wealthy and not have to work at all. So I have spent my working life doing a variety of office jobs; accounting, sales and so on. Currently working in administration for a very large UK company.I work only because I have to in order to survive.

I wanted to be a hairstylist and a speical education teacher. After finishing college, I decide to go back to school again. I plan to go to a beauty salon school this year. It has always been my dream.

I don’t remember ever wanting to be anything until I got into college. In college, I discovered that I wanted to be a published writer. After I graduated from college, I realized I liked being in academia. I liked being able to think about new stuff. As it happens, after about twenty-something years, I ended up working at a University, although not as a professor.

I have yet to publish anything. I still imagine that it might happen before I die. I write a lot. “Practice.” Maybe some day I’ll be brought up to the big leagues, but I’m too scattered, I think. A few skills and no coherence. Well, as the song says, “maybe tomorrow.”
