I need to identify a beetle I've been finding in my home (in the carpet and insulation in the basement).

I’ve been finding lots of little brown beetles ( I have a picture)—what are they? Follow this link http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ODUGlGhaapI/SpozLz3Ya9I/AAAAAAAANgg/HHFTPn0_g4M/s1600-h/Finger+beetle.JPG

Great picture and welcome to fluther.

Could it be a drugstore beetle (another link)

Also found this beetle identifier although several of the links are dead, it helped narrow things down.

It really does look like a drugstore beetle, but seems to be much larger than regular drugstore beetles. I would contact my local conservation dept for more answers.

Nope. It’s not a cockroach. It’s definitely a beetle.
