I've noticed when people leave an answer and it's directed at a particular person they will make it say @(whoever's name it is) and it will be in red. Will someone tell me how to do that?

It’s automatic. You just type in the @ symbol, and then start typing in the person’s name – no space in between. Names of people who’ve posted in that thread will automatically pop up and you can select the one you want. Or just type the whole thing manually. Either way, when you post, it will turn into a red link.
