Suddenly my shoulders hurt terrible, and burn! Any doctors in the house?

Asked by janedelila (3914points) November 4th, 2010

Way up high and just on either side of my spine. It gives me a near migraine when I lay down flat, and when I get a backrub it only helps for about 10 minutes. I don’t remember hurting myself, and I don’t feel tingling like a pinched nerve. Some jelly doctor, help!

I have no idea. Have you strained yourself lately?

Maybe some sort of heartburn, or muscle spasms.

I’d check with your doctor if the pain does not subside, or becomes worse in the next few hours.

Maybe you are sprouting wings. lol

NOT A DOCTOR, that said. Do you have a history of heart issues or high B/P ? ? ?
If you or your family does have a history, I would make a trip to the ER.

@Coloma or maybe someone just hauled me up short, or I was the victim of invisible Kung Fu fighting. @Tropical_Willie I have no history of such, but one long ago uncle did. Now you done scared me.

@noelleptc yeah! I whipped off my shirt today and sliced out the tag it bothered me so bad. I had a report due and worked on it all day Monday on my couch with the laptop…could it be?? Never happened before, but I was also seriously stressed it would not ever get done.

I am betting it is because of the way you were sitting on the couch for so long. Kind of like sitting at a computer all day gives people mid-back pain.

Did not mean to scare you. Women have different symptoms for heart attacks from men. If you have a recent trip the store or carried anything heavy that would be sore muscles.

Yes, maybe muscle spasms, I get this neck and shoulder thing from slouching over the computer. ( Like now, lol )

Try the Ibuprofin and a HOT, HOT, HOT, bath, then bed….see how you feel in the morning.

Notice if it is an end of the day thing, a culmination of the days stressors and tensions.
