What should I do (for fun) when I get back to the Bay Area?

Asked by Carly (4555points) November 7th, 2010

In a few weeks I’ll be leaving the college I’ve been going to for over two years. Unfortunately it’s located in the rural midwest and I rarely get off campus in general, so since I’ve been so deprived of good entertainment and fun (and I just miss the bay), I was wondering if there’s anything cool happening soon in the Bay Area.

Any suggestions?

why not check out the websites for Slims and Cafe du Nord to see what bands are playing soon? and the entertainment section of SFGate.com will have all the upcoming stuff.

Maybe you could tell us all a bit more of what you like to do for fun?

Go to Berkeley and enjoy the food. Go to Palo Alto and take a stroll on University Ave.

Have a cappuccino and pastry from Tartine in Dolores Park :)

Don’t have a Cappuccino if you’re going riding. Bad idea! lol

you’re heading into the holiday season entertainment. There’s a touring cast of the West Side Story revival in town right now. the Not-So-Silent-Night concert is December 10 in San Jose with Smashing Pumpkins and My Chemical Romance.

@Carly – You, Cameron, and I should hang out. I have like no friends here and I could probably stand some human contact and socialization. :) I grew up in SF and I love showing people around.. I know lots of cool spots in and out of the city.

If you aren’t up for that (the hanging out), it’s cool, no pressure. Just PM me and I can give you some tailored suggestions depending on the kinds of stuff you like to do. For now, check out this site (free/cheap events in SF) or this (same site, for East Bay).
