Should Bob Marley be honored?

No. Bob Marley should not be honored, because he was mistakenly over-honored by erroneously receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012.

He is a musical icon, but as far as making a contribution to mankind, I think you can do better. If you want to write a report about a musician how about Bono or Sting?

He taught peace and tolerance but so do/did many other people. He seemed like a nice enough guy but his biggest legacy is still his weed policies. When most people think of Bob Marley, weed, not peace, is the first thing that comes to mind. I’d honor many others before him.

EDIT: Oh… and, personal opinion, I think most of his music sucks.

I’m sure he was a nice guy.
Reggae seems a little repetitive to me.
But the truth is when I hear the name or see his face on a t-shirt, I just think of a ganja smoking rastafarian, not much more.
I sort of like “No Woman, No Cry” , but mostly because I love the title.

Honored? For what? For cool music? He had that but so did others.
Jimmy Buffett named his son after him (middle name Marley).
