Do you have trouble signing on to AOL mail with IE?

Asked by Ltryptophan (12091points) November 11th, 2010

I do. It doesn’t work. IE simply has a fit and shuts down the tab.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Do you see an error at all? That would help troubleshoot.

Are you running the latest version of IE? Some sites now just stop working if you don’t have it.

If you are not but want to see if it helps you can run the spoon virtual IE8 and see if that helps (spoon will ask to install a small app on your PC but don’t worry its safe and its a good way to test without actually installing IE8)

I use IE 8, no error report comes up, the aol site is in my trusted sites, and my popup blocker as a safe site, and by pop up blocker i mean the resident IE popup blocker. It has no problem loading up on firefox which is what I use instead to check that email account.

@Ltryptophan I would suggest using Firefox or Chrome as your default browser anyway. As far as the crashed tab goes, it’s probably due to an internal IE problem, maybe a memory leak or a slow script. If you absolutely must use IE, have you considered trying IE 9 beta?
