How can I overlay text on a video?

I want have some content appear on screen when the video reaches certain times. For example the text “ravan0203” should appear next to the video after 30 seconds of play (the time and text would be determined by me). This I want to do while uploading a video on any social networking sites. How can I do this?

Welcome to the site.

You would need to use a video editor to accomplish this. Windows Movie Maker comes with certain versions of windows. Final Cut (MAC) can be purchased

or there is JayCut which is a free web video editor.
