How do you get a disk out of a red ring of deathing xbox360?

Asked by bomyne (639points) November 20th, 2010

My xbox360 has just died with the red ring of death… i’ve made the decision to replace it but there is still a disk in the drive. How do i get it out since the eject button doesn’t work?

A really big hammer should do the trick!

@Mat74UK yes but then Microsoft are unlikely to want to fix it now are they?

@Lightlyseared – I would say get a PS3 but I’m on my 3rd now! My 360 has only had the red ring once.

Your xbox doesnt still open? Mine just red ringed recently after my girlfriend accidentally kicked it over. It will still open the drive and all just after a min of tryin to load it red rings. Even after that though I can open and close the drive.

Since the “red ring of death” is a general hardware failure, I guess it depends on why your xbox is red ringing. I’m assuming mine over heated as nothing happens on the screen either.
