What does it mean to dream about someone who likes you?

Asked by sleepyhead2712 (56points) November 22nd, 2010

This was what a friend of mine dreamed: She was at her grandmother’s place, hanging out with her cousins, when suddenly she falls and hurts her ankle. Then everybody disappears and the only person left with her was the guy who she knew liked her, but she is unsure of her feelings towards him. He examines her foot, tries to help her up but she can’t stand on her own so he carries her and drives her to the hospital. She sort of passes out then wakes up in a hospital bed, she looks around and finds him fast asleep on the chair by her bedside, he was the only one there… That’s where the dream ends. So what exactly does this dream mean?

It means subconsciously that she desires someone to rescue her, she is projecting her hidden desires onto the person in question based on his signals of liking her.

But really…who the hell knows! lol

It means that guy has crossed her mind lately in some fashion, maybe. Dreams are open to interpretation, so it really will “mean” whatever she decides it means.

It means he is on her mind. Not much more than that.

She has been thinking about him a lot lately, she tells me that he constantly in her mind. She likes having him as a friend, but is really not sure about the way she feels towards him romantically.

Dreams are not literal and people in dreams are not people in the outside world. They are metaphors that are sometimes only interpretable by the dreamer.

What does Grandmother’s place and the cousins mean? Sounds like that means a place of comfort and safety. So she’s in this good place, but suddenly something goes quite wrong. It sounds unexpected and quite painful.

This could be a relationship with someone close to her and something coming between them. It could be an argument or disagreement.

Then she is rescued. I.e., she finds something comforting. It does not need to be a person. It could be a comfort object, or it could be something inside that she uses to comfort herself about the pain. Whatever this comforting thing is, it has stayed with her, and it looks like it plans to stay with her. It’s like she’s gotten some new internal strength that she didn’t know she had.

The dream is telling her to recognize her own strength. She can heal herself. She can be with herself and be ok. She can recover from this fight, whatever it was.

@sleepyhead2712 well that is essentially all there is to it. She thinks about him, and our thoughts and experiences during the day carry over into our dreams.

Dreams are the brains way of processing what we learn every day. They don’t tell the future or read other people’s minds or anything of that nature, they are just very literally the brain making sense out of what happens to us every day.

@TheOnlyNeffie You have a point, I guess that’s all there is to it.

Maybe that you like them too or that they repulse you so much that you pray for them to have an “unfortunate accident” everyday! If that’s the case, I won’t tell LOL
