How to Curl hair?

Asked by nana098 (46points) November 26th, 2010

I have extremely straight hair and I want to curl it for my birthday but when I try to in 30 minutes it turns straight again. How can I keep it curled?

Use a curl-holding gel product on your hair. Put it on wet after you wash your hair. Set your hair on rollers, and then use haur spray after your take the rollers our and have it fixed the way that you want it.

Put on loads of hairspray afterwards – until it’s crunchy (and then hope no one touches your hair) Happy curling!

I have the same issue. I agree with noelleptc. One thing that will always help is to have your hair at least “a day old”. If you want your hair curly, for lets say a Friday, then wash your hair Thursday morning. If you let the natural oils build up for 24 hours or so your hair will take to curling better. Take a section of your hair and spray it heavily with hair spray and brush it through. Wait 20 sections to let it dry and then curl. I put my curler on super high which i am sure is bad for my hair but it curls fast.

I have the same problem! My hair is brown, really thick, hardly wavy, and about an inch below my shoulders. I wonder if your hair is anything like mine or if any of these characteristics would affect the way hair curls. If anything works, please let me know! I’m kind of paranoid about my hair getting wrecked, so I never do anything to it unless I’ve gotten good reports about it.

I’m Asian and it’s extremely difficult to curl my straight Asian hair and have it hold for hours but I’ve manage to curl and have it hold for hours, this I’ve done for my graduation.

It might and might not work for you but it’s worth a try.
This is how I did mine.
Before you curl the strand of hair with a curling iron spray some hairspray on it, make sure you pass your fingers through your hair to get the hairspray mixed in it then curl your hair the curling iron. Repeat these steps.

People might say that this method may burn your hair but it didn’t to mine, so idk it all depends how healthy your hair is too.
