Unlawful incarcerations and repression of existing civil liberties

Privileging him or herself before the people, and arbitrarily applying the law based on his or her whim rather than the proper application of the law itself.

I think most of what people can answer with – has already happened or is happening. What bugs me, is how the level of current indifference and resignation is maintained.

But to answer your specific question. One would hope a leader would be overthrown when he is damaging his groups/nations large scale interests. Social equality, guarantees for a sustainable future and so forth.

Failure to lead; excessive delegation to thugs.

Any amoral or irrational behaviour would move a society to depose him…that and wearing white shoes and belts ;)

In the United States?

U.S. Constitution – Article 2 Section 4

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
