How can I get my iPhone to display Hangul (Korean alphabet) characters in text messages I receive?

Asked by CaseyWVU10 (550points) November 28th, 2010

I used to receive Korean texts with the Hangul characters showing up, no problem, but now since I updated my iPhone on 11/24/10 the hangul characters in my texts are not being displayed, its an iphone 3g. Am I better off just restoring my phone back to when the characters were displayed or trying to find a solution to this problem?

I just added the Korean keyboard to my 3rd gen iPod touch and I had no problems writing in Korean, but when I tried to text myself from Google Voice to TextPlus, it wouldn’t send the msg with Korean in it. Try powering off your iPhone and turning it back on, and if that doesn’t work, I would try restoring it. If that still doesn’t fix it, call Apple (or take it in to an Apple Store). They have great customer service.
