When someone jumps into a cave and lands at the bottom with a parachute...what's next? How do they get out?

Asked by deni (23141points) November 29th, 2010

I was watching Planet Earth: Caves and it shows a bunch of people just nonchalantly jumping into these huuuuge caves in Borneo and Mexico and such. What I don’t understand is how they get out. I’m trying to google it and find an answer but I’m yielding no results. I’m very curious. Anyone know?

I would guess they are also rock climbers.

The cameramen have ropes? Seriously, not being facetious, maybe they only do it with support persons who stay topside with extraction gear.

Side door at the bottom. Most likely whatever carved out the cave had to find an exit so there should be another way out.

… a lobster, a match and 7 sticks of dynamite.

Or climbing gear.

There was a movie where they jumped into a huge cave and then they climbed out with rock climbing gear.

Nonchalant? I’d say those people better start getting real chalant about that.
