Can't wait for something to start, how do you cope?

World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm, is about to start. I am super excited about new content and wonder how do you cope with the waiting before something starts?

Oh man, I know where you’re coming from. I have an exam tomorrow, so though I was hoping to fill my quest log with dailies that I could turn in right after Cata (instant xp!) and go to a midnight release tonight, I’ll be studying :(

I’m just trying to cope with the knowledge that I won’t be able to play right away!

Haha me too! I accidentally turned on in though so I only have 24 to turn in in Icecrown!

Although I am not as excited about this particular thing as you are, when I have a similar thing happen I find a way to fill the time with as much as possible so I have less time to dwell on how long I have to wait.

Oh you enjoy it! The anticipation’s half the fun!

I love looking at all the presents under the Christmas tree at my house, the agonizing week wait between the shows I get overly absorbed with, the ten minutes the cookies have to bake in the oven as their aroma fills the house…

The excitedness and anticipation go away once the actual thing gets there, whatever it is. So savor the feeling of hardly being able to stand there being time between you and what you want.
