Doom: Should I play them in order?

I decided to staret playing doom, i tried it a few years ago but never got the chance to play much. Should I play the whole series in order? Does the story progress from each one?

The stories of the original Doom series – Doom and Doom II – are sequential.

Doom III is more like a reboot of the genre along similar lines to how JJ Abrams rebooted the Star Trek franchise.
