What is the best time of the year to go to Hawaii?

Asked by johndoe88882222 (66points) December 8th, 2010

It seems like a place that’d be warm most of the year. I’m looking for good weather, but don’t want it to be too crowded. Thoughts?

Winter is the peak tourist season, but Hawaii is never really too crowded. The weather is good year round.

Anytime is great, crowds will be smaller or not at all on the neighbor islands. Oahu ( Honolulu ) can be crowded and the other islands are easy to get to and stay at.
Winter can be rainy but that is where all the rainbows come from.

I went this past January. I have been in July, and in November. All were great, weather was not that different, the beach was warm and relaxing, and the water warm.. The biggest difference is that in the winter large swells come down from the Gulf of Alaska, and so the surf, especially on the north side, can be huge. In January the large swells made snorkeling and scuba diving difficult. I had to be content getting a tan and doing some body surfing.

Weather is good year around. I think winter is better because not as many tourist as during the summer. Parts of Oahu can be crowded, but if you go to the windward side, it’s nice.
