What's a cool Secret Santa gift for a man up to US$10?

Asked by aprilsimnel (30749points) December 9th, 2010

I’m attending a Christmas party with some expat UK friends (Chrimbo, she called it. hee!). I have to get a guy a Secret Santa gift costing no more than $10 / £6.

So what sort of prezzie do you blokes (and others who buy things for them) reckon I get?

Gift cards are made of win. I know its not super special for that person or whatever, but id rather you give me a giftcard then try and be cool and get something that I totally hate.

@Afos22, it’s going to be any one of a group of men between 30–40 years old. They’re mostly from England, but I think there’ll be one or two Scots in there, if that makes any difference.

Lotto tickets, they are fun and who knows, the$ 10 could always turn into$ 100!

I 2nd @uberbatman‘s statement about gift cards. Also, I wonder if men enjoy to pry open free counter samples of colognes?

I like the loto ticket idea but if that is not aan option, here is another idea. Take ten dollar bills clamp them to a piece of cardboard and use rubber cement to glue the tops together. When all is dry, remove the clamps and put the bills in anempty checkbook. A simple gift tjat pays off big whe he triess to spend the money. It is perfectly good money, easy totear off and give a cashier… but thecashier re alwaays hesitant to take them since they never saw them in book form.

A donation to the Human Fund would be a nice gift.

But in all seriousness, I would agree with @deliasdancemom about the scratch tickets. There are a lot of tickets now-a-days that have scratch off games such as crossword puzzles and bingo.

Joke present: I got a present of 25 scratchers once, with all of them scratched off, “to save me the hassle!”

An inexpensive bottle of liquor wine or a 6 pack of beer? I liked the idea someone put up of one of those small flash drives…a box of some assorted coffees?

My guy brought home a bag of fireworks, several packets for a $1.00ea and he couldn’t wait to go out to the yard and set them off.I’ve seen him that excited about few things
