What kind of watch should I buy?

Asked by coconnor (5points) April 11th, 2007
I need a new watch, I want it to be dressy enough to wear to work, with a suit, but with a leather band. Price up to $200; I am a male. Any recommendations? Thanks!

If you don't want bells and whistles, LLBean sells a nice man's watch w. time, second hand and date only. Dials glow in the dark. Strap is leather. The stainless is fine; the phoney gold yucky. C. $90. Maybe not dressy enough if you are in a suit but a good vanilla watch that could go into/on a kayak or mt. bike easily, also.

I am wearing the woman's version now, having thrown out my Timex because I couldn't understand the instructions in any of the 12 languages for all its stupid and unnecessary tricks. I couldn't even switch from EST to DST.

My friend is really into his Kinetic watch. It doesn't use a battery, it's powered by your own body! (I don't totally understand how).

There are tons of options out there. I have a Zodiac watch--it, like the Kinetic watch, is powered by movement + gravity somehow. Swiss Army watches are great. Any Nordstroms or similar-type store will have a big selection of brands and styles.
