There are a number of countries & continents that begin with the letter "A", but there are two that differ from the rest. Which two & how are they different?

Antarctica and Australia.

They are both countries as well as continents.

Well, Afghanistan is the only one that doesn’t end in “A” but I don’t know of the other. Or really, even what you’re asking.
