I know this is a day of shock and difficulties and some dissension but didn’t most of us discover Fluther by happy accident?
There are many new jellies today and some will stay if we make sure they know how great this community can be. Can we set aside our reactions for a moment to remind ourselves that this is an “open” forum?
Don’t you think that we can validate the reason to keep Fluther alive and kicking?

I’m thrilled to welcome the new folks. From what I’ve seen, the influx has brought some great, thoughtful people here.

In the 2 years i’ve been here, I’ve witnessed many migrations. For various reasons we’ve had periods of influx that have brought with them awesome contributors, trolls, malcontents, thoughtful posters, awesome questions, ridiculous questions… a bit of everything.
This is the first time since I’ve been here that I’ve not seen a turbulent acclimation period. From what little I’ve seen of the noobs, they’ve integrated seamlessly and in no time at all. It’s odd not to see a slew of questions about moderation, site rules, “change this”, “our old site had that”... I’m truly grateful for the new batch of jellies and the peaceful transition that they’ve treated us to.

@wundayatta Awww – I’d probably be at around 20 – if that – I haven’t been contributing that much lately (lately = many months).
Besides – as you know – lurve is erally hard to get later on – as we max out quickly – so essentially it’s only from newbs – which have to be impressed byyour questions/answers.
