What are some MAJOR differences between the Sims 2 and the new Sims 3?

I’m considering buying the new Sims 3 game for a PC and I want to know if it’s really worth my money. Anyone who has played or owns this game, can you please let me know the better/worse things about this game over the Sims 2?

I dunno, I actually have the The Sims 3 CD but unfortunately my PC does not afford its dimensions. :(

Not having to wait forever for it to load, I hear. I’m not spending the money on it right now myself because I don’t have the time for it. I’m happy with the Sims 2 I have for now.
