Can I just open my iPad in My Computer and drag-n-drop files?

Or is there a way to do that if I jailbreak it? I can’t stand iTunes.
I have both Windows 7 and Ubuntu.

There is an app called USBDisk that is available for iphone/ipod, so it should work for ipad. You can drag and frop files into and from the app using itunes, and on the device the app lets you see the files. Aside from that there isn’t anything else.
