Have you ever felt like you are in a bubble?

Asked by blackenedbloodred (102points) January 2nd, 2011

Have you ever felt like you’re in a bubble or the feeling of still being in the amniotic sac looking around your surrounding but seeing just transparency? Since highschool, I’ve had that feeling and I’ve always wondered why sometimes do I see that? I don’t see the world that way anymore, but it always bothered me, because I can’t really explain in words what I see. Basically, I see like a transparent cloud thru my eyes and sometimes I reach out like its not real. Hmmmm….

I think I know what you mean. My doctor called it “dissociative” and I am it.

I’ve felt some what like that before. I remember feeling that way when I was very young with a high fever, and before when I was half asleep and half awake. Its a very strange feeling.

If it’s anything like the feeling that you are underwater and there is kind of a thick invisible wall around you and everything moves in a kind of slow, blurry way, then yes. I have felt that way sometimes when I was really depressed or just feeling totally alienated from the world, to the point that I asked myself “What are they saying?” and “How do they know what to do next?” I felt like a detached observer from an alternate universe. And I didn’t know what to say or what to do next.
