What games might I enjoy other than this?

Asked by Marchofthefox (787points) January 4th, 2011

Hi, I recently bought a Game boy DS Lite and the game, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral town.
I was wondering what other games might I enjoy?
Is there a website for video game recommendations?

GamesRadar.com is a pretty good website for information on new games. For DS, I’d recommend the Professor Layton series, if you like puzzle games. Also, try Super Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS, and Advanced War: Days of Ruin too name a few.

This site is good for everything DS, although you might have to waddle around to find what you’re specifically wanting…so, in case you don’t feel like it, I would suggest GameFAQs. Here is a list of just about every DS game ever made that came overseas, and then some. Since I don’t really know what kind of games to play, the list here is good if you don’t mind spending a while checking out reviews and stuff.

I agree with Joker94 with the Layton games and Mario. Also, Rune Factory is sort of a spin-off of Harvest Moon that you might like.

Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is pretty fun. I used to play it on my DS, until I got stuck in the caves. Here’s a site with reviews and comparisons.

Everyone speaks highly of Harvest Moon, is it for everyone or is it a niche game?

@Joker94 I would say it was for both—more or less.
I’m really not into anime or anything but I really do dig the game a lot.
Its challenging which I think makes the game more interesting and it takes time.
I was very far in the game and sadly I misplaced the game now I have to start all over. :<

@Joker94 The HM series are basically farming simulators with cute little anime farmers and cows. You gotta cut wood, tend crops, look after livestock, find a wife/husband and so forth. I would say it’s a niche game. It’s very easy to enjoy if you like that kinda stuff, but I don’t really think it’s for everyone.

Hm. Which Harvest Moon would you recommend to start? Also, if you need a really good DS game try Animal Crossing: Wild World. It’s got all the charm of Animal Crossing crammed into a DS, and it is completely addicting…

I would honestly say, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral town.
Oh, my friend AC for gamecube and another had it for the wii and it looks so fun! D:

Thanks for the recommendatino! And AC: Wild World is great, I poured a ridiculous amount of man-hours into it before I got bored with it…about two year’s worth XD

I’ll be sure to look into it! It sure does sound fun!
