D) None of the above. I just look at their stands and beliefs. Basically I go for the best of the worst. I try not to see it as voting for a party, but for a canidate instead.

Parties are overrated. I’m objective with each issue, pick a candidate that has views most similar to mine, but I don’t choose a party based on it’s views. Umbrellas are stupid, look where it got Umbrella corp!

While I consider myself to be Republican, I do not neccessarily always vote for someone from my party. I always look at who I would think would do the best job. It does not matter if they are Democrat, Republican, female or male.

Nearly everyone is going to say “none” over and over again.

I generally identify with the Democratic party, although it’s because I’m really so libertarian that I’ve cross back to the left side of the spectrum. I believe that a true libertarian society is one in which everyone has equal opportunity and that the government’s job is to ensure that you don’t violate the rights of everyone else. Which makes me socially libertarian and economically liberal.

On individual issues I have opinions, but I don’t vote for candidates based on whether they agree with me or not. Instead I look for the candidate that has the most discernment, who is able to get to core problem and attempts to find earnest solutions. Even if he or she disagrees with me, if I can trust their thought process I’m going to vote for them. At the very least I can assume that they did what they thought was best, and were not simply doing things for personal gain or ego.

I’m registered as a Dem, but I’m moderate.

I’m a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. In other words I would like to save the world but I want to see how we will pay for it.

@soundedfury…I whole heartedly echo your sentiments regarding the importance in evaluating candidates thought process & decision making.

I belong to no organized political party.

I’m a Democrat.

I only bleed out of the left side of my body…that’s how ridiculously liberal I am. I know it and I’m good with it.

If you had to put a label on what I actually am… the closest would probably a libertarian, but as PJ O’Rourke so aptly said “the Libertarian party often can be reduced to a room full of high school civics teachers arguing the merits of sidewalk repair privatization”.
So, like most Libertarians in America, I joined the GOP…
but sometime just after the Republican “congressional revolution” of 1996, I started to feel like the party I believed in was in the process of being hijacked by guys I didn’t like that were REALLY focused on things that don’t matter.
So, in what I think is the opposite of the norm—as I’ve gotten older, I’ve actually gone much further left.
So, though I’m still a libertarian at heart, and after many years as an independent, I’m now a proud member of the Democratic party.

Libertarian. The democrats and republicans are becoming more and more the same party that runs against itself. Both grow government intervention and control of our lives. It is just a matter of at what rate.
Libertarians stand for less government, individual liberty to succeed or fail, stay away from foreign entanglements militarily, promote free enterprise and free trade.

Registered as an Independent but usually vote Republican, it depends on the candidate.

I’m a chucktarian. Chuck runs the world anyway. Vote 4 chuck!

cwilbur's avatar

I’m a registered voter but not enrolled in any party because I have significant disagreements with both of them.

If you were to do a formal analysis, I’m probably closest to the values Republicans claim they hold, but the way Democrats usually vote.

trainerboy's avatar

I am open to being a Chucktarian. Do I have to get my ass kicked to join?

hairypalm's avatar

no but you have to be able to kick a ball over a football feild wirhout using you legs.

I will stand and tell you that I am a Republican. I want to belong to a Party that usually stands for this country and what is right. I do not agree with most if not all of the current Democratic stances on the issues. I do not support abortion. I do NOT support same sex “marriage” so called. I do not like any of those things. I do not like the Clinton clique. I do not like anything I have seen about Barack Obama. I think that the Republicans have a lot of house cleaning to do as well…starting with Job 1 in the White House right now! I think John McCain is the man for that job.
