What did Fluther do that I can now access my old song title game thread?

Asked by AstroChuck (37609points) January 12th, 2011 from iPhone

For quite a while my old thread wouldn’t load up. I was told not to link to it or try to go to it because it would cause problems with Fluther due to the over 2600 responses. I was surprised to find that this thread was active again in my “Stuff for You”. I went to it no problem. So what did Fluther do that allows such a long thread to be accessible again?

Maybe it’s a case of benign neglect?

Any Fluther gods out there to answer or are you all too busy with twitter?

Edit: I meant over 2400 responses. Not 2600.

@AstroChuck 2400 – 2600 what’s the difference, it’s a great thread. Your thread must have been the first of the games catagory on Fluther. I couldn’t load the thread from my computer because I think it is too long. You might want to start the thread again. I’ve had to continue The Jelly Below Me game thread 5 times because of complaints that the page was loading to slow. A lot of the Jellies are having a ball and racking up much lurve on the TJBM thread.

There were no categories when I posted that.

I’m not sure exactly what happened, but I think it does have to do with server capacity. A couple of other long ones are accessible again, too. Makes me happy.

PS: You totally could ask that again in Social. :)

We made some changes a while ago to make the site more sustainable. Basically we’ve injected sodium benzoate into everything.

Ooh. That sodium benzoate must be some pretty good stuff. Just imagine if you were to add a little sodium andrewzoate as well.
