Is it safe to leave my retainers in the cleaning solution all day?

I wear clear retainers every night that I put in a cleaning solution (Retainer Brite) during the day. The instructions say it’s clean after 30 minutes. Is it okay to leave it in that solution all day though? i’m assuming it’s not going to damage my retainers either way.

It would depend on what the solution is made of. It may eventually cause corrosion of the retainer if you leave it in all day every day, but I kind of doubt it. Best to ask your dentist, though.

According to this article, it is not OK to leave them soaking in the solution all day:

Examples of cleaning solution are: Retainer Brite, SonicBrite, Cleanse Freshen Go, DentaSoak, or other similar products. Follow the instructions for whichever product you are using. If you wear your retainer 24/7, be sure to let them soak the full according to the instructions to get them totally clean do not leave them soaking longer and do not let your retainers soak all day.
