What, in your opinion, are some of the worst movie lines?

Asked by awomanscorned (11261points) January 14th, 2011 from iPhone

Ones that made you ask, “Who the hell wrote this?” and made you hate the character who uttered it. I have a few in mind…

Anything that comes out of the mouth of almost any SNL alumnus.

“You complete me.” Tom Cruise in Jerry McGuire. Makes my eyes roll.

Oh way too many to mention here, but off the top of my head Sylvester Stallone (who else) from Rocky 4…...“If I can change & you can change, then we can all change.” Yeah, right! Also Sean Connery as Bond in Goldfinger…...“At least they wont be using heroin flavoured bananas to finance revolutions.” Cringeworthy stuff indeed :¬(

Almost any line in any Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. :P

The entire dialogue spoken by Hayden Christiansen in Star Wars II The Clone Wars.

Most dialogue by Keanu Reeves (in any of his movies).

All of the dialogue spoken by Nicholas Cage In Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.

Most dialogue spoken by Will Ferrell in any movie with the exclusions of Megamind and Blades of Glory (which were really funny).

@Kardamom I really liked Will Ferrell in The Producers, too. He totally cracked me up.

As for bad dialogue, I’d add anything uttered by Hayden Christiansen in any movie.

@Dr_Dredd and @noelleptc I haven’t seen either of those movies. I try to avoid any movies with Will Ferrell, but I trust your judgement, so I may have to check them out. For perspective, I absolutely loathed Anchorman. I hope they’re not like that.

@Kardamom I haven’t seen Anchorman, so I don’t know. I do know that The Producers was based on the Broadway show. Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane played the two lead parts (about Broadway producers deliberately trying to make a flop). It was hysterical!

In Highlander when the chick says the following to Connor; Some people are afraid to die. That’s not your problem, you’re afraid to live.

Pfft wow that’s deep.

A line from Shark Attack 3, which is the only part of this movie I have seen:

Anything spoken by that total idiot of an actor Will Ferrell.

In Star Wars Episode 2, Anakin says “My heart is beating hoping that that kiss will not become a scar. ”
I SO wanted to scream out “Rewrite!”

The guy that says “Cheese and crackers” as an exclamation in The Happening. And those were like his only lines.

“So this is where your heart truly lies then.” Commodore Norrington, from the first Pirates of the Caribbean.

NO DUH

Whatever the world’s worst line is, I’m sure it’s somewhere in “King of The Kickboxers.” Just marvel at the cheese levels in the first 8 minutes.

Berserker's avatar

@Smashley I’ll say, that’s some cheesy shit right there…but it looks awesome lol. :D

@Symbeline – Notice the part where they’re totally reading the lines off of the photo the kid is holding?

Berserker's avatar

Ah, no haha but now that you mention it, doesn’t surprise me much. XD
