How do I change the controls for the Shrek Super Slam PC game?

Asked by mathwhiz1 (264points) January 16th, 2011

In the main menu of this game, when I go to Options, then Control Options, the screen comes up with a page that has Disconnected on the top four times with all of the moves on the bottom. This leads me to believe that people have to connect a game controller in order to change the controls. But the manual for this game says:

“This section outlines game controls using the default keyboard control schemes for Player 1 (Scheme 1) and Player 2 (Scheme 2). These keyboard mappings can be modified in the
Options/Keyboard Config menu.”

But the problem is that when I go to the Options menu, Keyboard Config is nowhere to be found. I’ve already tried contacting Customer Support regarding this issue, but they don’t quite understand what I am trying to get at. They told me to update the drivers for my keyboard and to make sure that a joystick isn’t hooked up to my computer. I don’t even have a joystick. Is there something I can download that will allow me to change the controls for this game? I can only use one of my hands, so I wanted to change the controls so that they are closer to me.

Courtesy useless reply, because this thread is lonely.

It sounds like your control options menu is only for controllers, which could be why you need to connect a controller in order to modify its mappings…
If there’s supposed to be a keyboard config submenu, but there clearly isn’t any, then maybe there’s an error in your manual. Have you asked Customer Support about this mysteriously absent menu option?

It’s a common problem with licensed games that the producers can get away with being sloppy. I would totally understand if at this point you would lose your patience, give up and decide to play a more decent game.
