How can I start up and run a counsellor activity after studying it at school?

I am attending a school of counselling in Italy. This kind of activity is not very well known here. I need to know what kind of things I should do in order to promote the activity, find clients, where to do it, what kind of people should I talk to… I need any advice from a person that runs a counselling activity.
