except for the 49ers with Joe Montana coached by Bill Walsh. The Packers are merely the greatest team this year in the NFC.

Cheesehead! ;)

3 road wins to the Superbowl. Bad ass.

Moderately.

cockswain's avatar

Super moderately?

As an aside, my brother was excessively celebrating, came down on his ankle funny, and the bone came through the skin. A great victory taken to the ER.

cockswain's avatar

Disgusting, but I’m sort of chuckling about it. I mean I feel for him and his awful pain, but it was so ridiculous.

I am going to let my wife answer this one. Turning keyboard over now:( At the age of four, I wanted so badly to be a Green Bay Packer!!! hence, the reason my parents immediatly stuck me in ballet. Still, today, I am the coolest substitue teacher because I can drop kick a football like no other chick could dream of. By the way, I am so wasted on my husband who was raised in a town with no football team, he could care less. He does very kindly offer to fetch me beer during the big games.)

I like the team a lot, but the fanatics they become so obnoxious and sickening.
Unfortunately, they will not beat the Steelers. I think it has something to do with a guy named Rooney. If you don’t beat them decisively in the super bowl the refs will-I guarantee it.

@Season_of_Fall your wife sounds awesome.

@Garebo The fans must seem like a weird cult to outsiders. From the inside, it is like one great family of farmers and liberals.

Not a fan of the Packers. I use to be a fan of the Titans, until their winning record hit rock bottom.

Rarebear's avatar

Not at all, but I am an Aaron Rogers fan as I watched him develop at Cal.

no love here for the Fudge packers

Well i’m not going to lie, being English I can’t find it in me to love an american football team, but i’m glad they won bud. One more game to go & you know what? I think i’m going to tune in just because I can.

Green Bay Who?

I’m afraid that Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent are the greatest team in the history of sports, for their coxless pair rowing exploits. Between 1992 and 1996 they won every world championship and olympic gold available to them, an astonishing feat in such a gruelling discipline as rowing. They then paired up with two other rowers to win every world championship and olympic gold in the coxless fours for the next four years

Steve Redgrave won gold at five consecutive olympics, between 1988 and 2004 – to keep oneself at the peak of physical performance for 16 years (and suffering from ulcerative colitis and diabetes for much of that time) is mind-boggling.

Who are they? A moving company?

cockswain's avatar

Ugh. Like my hangover isn’t making me grumpy enough. I don’t even know why I asked this question. No ripping on the Packers, assholes.

a moving company. sheesh

Austinlad's avatar

@cockswain, I’m not an asshole—I’m simply not a sports fan and have a sense of humor. ;-)

cockswain's avatar

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was kidding with my last comment. No one’s an asshole. Your comment was funny.

Austinlad's avatar

Many thanks, @cockswain. Hope your hangover doesn’t hang on.

In the grand scheme of things? .000000000000000000000000001%

bob_'s avatar

@Blackberry What’s your margin of error?

cockswain's avatar

@Blackberry Yes, I have to agree. Our lives themselves might shave a few zeroes off your number. But sports, music, sex, and good food are some of the ways I fill the void.

Not as much as I love the Jets, but more than I love the Steelers.

Here’s an article from The New Yorker about how the Pack are the only, and likely will remain the only, publicly-owned team in all major professional U.S. sports.
