Quick, what do you do? (#2)

Asked by Foolaholic (5804points) January 28th, 2011

The horde of stone golems beat their chest in anticipation at they steamroll towards the outer wall, intent on destroying the gates. You, and your fellow knights, stand atop the ramparts, shaking in your chain mail. You and your 3 comrades (names Yorik, Logren, and Basil) decide to work together, and begin to empty your pockets and survey what you have.

It comes out to a compass, an ebony comb, a loincloth, a pair of +1 Aviators of Awesome, two pair of manacles, a red cape, a hip flask of black rum (120 proof), two spears, a shield in the shape of a two-headed gryphon, a rope of instant-hammock, a fake handlebar mustache (well-used), a pair of spurs and a love letter from Basil’s fiance.

Quick, what do you do?

Also: any explores with spoils from previous encounters may use them as well. You know who you are.

After careful review of what Stone Golems are…..and I’m not sure how many are in a “Horde”....But ya

I drink the Rum and get the fuck out of dodge…

My 3 comrades…good luck. if they don’t want to come with

I’d ask my fellow knight if he has a dictionary.

I use the 2 sets of manacles to shackle all three of my comrades together and push them over the wall to distract the horde of golems as I put on the fake mustache, red cape and Aviators and beat feet out the back door. I then head over to Basils fiance to break the bad news about Basil and share the hip flask of black rum with her to help console her in her moment of grief.

Don your Aviators of Awesome to blind the horde.

Attach one spear to the end of your rope and send it sailing to a far high object such as a tree in such a manner that it will hold firmly. If no such object is available, direct the spear far beyond the horde so that it stakes into the ground. Attach the other spear to the other end of the rope and wedge it into the wall.

Comb mustache and affix to upper lip.

Create diversions by each knight simultaneously doing one of the following:
1) throwing the compass to the left
2) folding the love letter into a paper airplane and sailing it to the right
3) hold the two headed gryphon shield in front of his face and roar like a mad man
4) begin sliding while wearing the loin cloth sans underclothing as a distraction and the cape ‘cause it looks cool flowing in the air.

Drink rum.

Each knight holds onto one side of a manacle and slides to the end of the rope. Spurs are worn to kick stray stone golems in the head.

Clear.

Put all the junk into a pile along with the chain mail. Then poor the rum onto the pile of juck and ignite it. This will confuse the horde of stone golems. Then run like hell! Each of us in a different direction.

Wow.. a whole horde of stone golems?!?!?

Afraid I’m going to have to “live to fight another day” on this one.

Don mustache, red cape, and aviators of awesomeness in hopes that nobody will recognize me along with my fellow knights running away like a bunch of frightened little girls. Find a nice clearing in the nearby woods on a hilltop from where we can watch the destruction of the city. Use loin cloth to change soiled shorts (defiled the moment the horde of golems came rolling over the hill). Share 120 proof rum with buddies while doing our best to convince ourselves that we probably could have kicked their ass if only…

Ok, Ok… Before running away like a heard of frightened weasels, I don the spectacles that let one see hidden objects in hopes of spotting something (anything) that might give us a sporting chance.

(I’m hoping for something along the lines of a large invisible dragon that is loyal to and controlled by the serpent staff pried from that that skeleton’s cold dead hands.)
