I want a BMX bike for an adult. Any suggestions?

Asked by crisedwards (329points) February 5th, 2011

I am a 36 y.o. who has lately become rekindled with the memories of the BMX bikes I had as a youth. But, most seem to be made for kids and teens these days. And I refuse to get a mountain bike or, worse, a fixie. Who makes good, reasonably-priced (like maybe 200 bucks) adult BMX bikes?

Craigslist has a wide variety of BMX bikes, maybe start there or an enthusiast shop in your area?

Most of the bikes marketed toward an adult audience are going to be more than $200 new though

I hear Eastern and Colony make pretty good bikes… here’s a site if you haven’t found it already

Rekindled with memories of the BMX bikes you had as a youth, but most seem to be made for kids…isn’t that what you were when you rode a BMX bike?

Maybe you should try a 24 inch bike. Spoken from a mountain biker that has never riden a BMX bike.
